Background and Education

Baltimore Furniture Direct was started as a Power Marketing Direct licensee in 2003 by Pat Benhoff in his third career, after 35 years of construction and manufacturing experience. His son Chris Benhoff joined the business in 2004 after graduating from Salisbury University with a BS in Business and Accounting. Along with his education Chris added the energy and enthusiasm which was necessary to take the business to the next level. In addition to his degree Chris has experience as a kitchen manager with the Ruby Tuesday restaurant franchise and has twice completed the PMD assistant’s seminar. Chris purchased the business from his father in 2009 and decided to become a PMD Furniture Direct franchisee in December, 2009. Chris is single, and enjoys golf, bowling, skiing and is an accomplished bass guitar player.

Business History and Goals

Baltimore Furniture Direct, started under the name Mattress and Furniture Clearance, Inc. as a Power Marketing Direct licensee., and is now proud to be a PMD Furniture Direct franchisee. The business now serves the Baltimore metropolitan area but Chris envisions the day when he can expand his territory toward the coast in Salisbury Md. and southern Delaware where he went to school.
