We’nterprises Inc, dba Went Trading Company – Chico Furniture Direct has been around since 2003.  Chico Furniture Direct became a Power Marketing Direct licensee in 2008 and joined PMD Furniture Direct as a franchisee in the late summer of 2009.  The business has grown from its simple roots to be a multi-faceted and dynamic business.

Background

We’terprises was created for the purpose of building an asset that would create wealth and at the same time be a good corporate citizen.  Founded in 2003 by Cathy & Bob Wert, the company is in the serving people business with an emphasis on providing a “hi touch” experience for each customer.

Bob spent his first life in the RV Industry working for a couple of category leaders over a 30 year career.  He held various sales, marketing, BPO, product planning, and executive management positions.

Cathy spent her first life as a Home Industrial Engineer (Mom & Wife) to make sure her family got the start in life she strongly they needed to get.  In her second life she has filled many roles, up to and including the role of President of We’nterprises, Inc.  Her background in planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and guiding made her the perfect fit for this role.

Family & Education

Cathy is the youngest in a family of 3 girls and Bob is the oldest of 4 boys … talk about opposites attract.  Married for 37 years with 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren – family life keeps us occupied.

Bob is a Graduate of Shippensburg (PA) University where he majored in Business Administration & minored in Psychology.  Cathy graduated from Cumberland Valley High School and continued her education at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA.

Our roots began in Central Pennsylvania and took us to Hagerstown, MD, Omaha NE, Longview, TX, East Berlin, PA, Winchester, VA, Dayton, OH and finally Chico, CA (where we plan to retire – someday).  We like to travel, spend time with our family and close friends, and are both avid sports fans – Go Penn State & anything NASCAR.

PMD Business History, Goals & Aspirations

Chico Furniture Direct started out as a licensee of Power Marketing Direct in September of 2008.  In August of 2009 Chico Furniture Direct became a PMD Furniture Direct franchisee.

Currently the business is serving customers in the Chico, CA / Butte County Region.  Along with business growth will come the opportunity for personal growth as well.  Our ultimate goal is to build an enterprise that will provide ongoing value to our customers, give back a portion of our success to the community, and provide personal growth opportunities for everyone that works with us.

We actively support the Women’s Outreach Placement Center, the Salvation Army, and the Chico Jesus Center.  We also are members of the Greater Chico Area Chamber of Commerce & the Northern CA Better Business Bureau.
