Lynn Metzer became a PMD Furniture Direct franchisee in December 2009.  “After years of suits, ties, and starched shirts – I’ve traded it all to wear jeans to work every day,” Lynn said.  “From working with buyers from Walmart, Sears and Target, I now get to work with moms and dads and everyday folks. It has definitely been a year of lots of change. But change is good!”  Lynn is thankful for this life-changing opportunity.

Although Lynn has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the Arizona State University, he has a very strong background in the retail and wholesale businesses.  Lynn said he put himself through school by working for the Dayton-Hudson Corp., “which got me into the apparel business.”  A major highlight of Lynn’s time in the apparel industry was his role as a Chief Operating Officer for a multi-million dollar apparel company involved in the licensing of professional and collegiate athletic apparel.  Nonetheless, Lynn is experienced in all facets of business, including sales, merchandising, sourcing, production, product development and new product launch.

Lynn is married to Ronda, a preschool teacher at the Southeast Christian School and Church.  They have three children, two of which are twins.  Their son, Colin, is a mechanical engineer and a graduate of the University of Colorado.  The twins, Caitlyn and Hailey, are seniors in high school and will attend Colorado State University next fall.  The girls are involved in cross country, track and theater.  Lynn enjoys golf, tennis and skiing, which is a major perk of living and working in Colorado.  Both Lynn and Ronda are really looking forward to taking a cruise to Alaska this year, it is a vacation Ronda has always wanted to take.

Lynn enjoys sitting down and talking to his customers and trying to help them find the best mattress for their budget.  He takes pride in being a motivated and persistent hard-working individual.  Here are some of Lynn’s keys to success:
